Your view: Time for GOP legislators to become truthful, honest lawmakers .

Children's Hospital of Philadelphia

If you listen, you can clearly hear groaning and moaning coming from the graves of the former members of the Philadelphia Constitutional Convention.

They would be disappointed and horrified at the actions of the Republican senators for denying witnesses and documents to be presented at the Senate impeachment trial of President Donald Trump.

Every American knows that in any trial there will be witnesses and evidence presented to the jury. Then the jury can consider all the facts in the charges made against the defendant,

When the Republican senators decided they did not want to hear from John Bolton or Mick Mulvaney or any other executive branch employees familiar with the events related to the Trump-Ukraine scandal, it proved what a sham and farce the trial was.

I pray and hope that all Pennsylvanians will remember that Sen. Pat Toomey, R-Zionsville, voted with the other 51 Republicans to have a fake trial.

Trump has hijacked the Republican Party and turned it in to an unrecognizable party that was once dedicated to law and order.

When will Republicans wake up from their trance and become honest and truthful lawmakers? We all can only hope that the voters will not forget the fraud that the Republicans delivered to the nation.
