Several programs in honor of Veterans Day are scheduled this weekend.
Hibberd school will have a Veterans Day program 2:35-3:15 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, honoring those who have been in the military. The CATS choir will sing and four students — Tu’Shawn Farris, Paighton Morken, Alayna Tate and Atulya Kathuria — will give readings.
Centerville-Abington Elementary School will have its annual Veterans Day program at 8:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 9, in the elementary gymnasium. Guest speaker will be Bill Hanna, a former guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Washington, D.C.
The Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 777 and the Wayne County Memorial Park Committee will host the Veterans Day Remembrance program at 11 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, at the Wayne County Veterans Memorial Park.
Also in honor of Veterans Day, Amber Parker of Richmond Family Dentistry, Josh Ratcliff of Whitewater Valley Dental and their teams will provide free dental care on Friday to the growing number of veterans without dental insurance. During Veteran’s Free Dentistry Day, a choice of one free cleaning, filling or extraction will be provided per patient 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Friday at Suites A and B at 1429 Chester Blvd. in Richmond. Patients will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Veterans are asked to please take a valid form of veteran’s Identification (Veteran’s I.D., license with Veteran’s stamp or DD214).
