OLEAN, NY – The city’s fire department has launched a “Psychological and Well-Being First Aid Campaign” on its social media sites.
“Part of the mission and vision of the City of Olean Fire Department is to educate and empower our citizens,” the department wrote in a news release. “We take our mission and vision statements seriously, and we feel with all the negativity and uncertainty that is out there on a regular basis, we hope to offer some bit of reprieve.”
According to the release, the department plans to move away from posting COVID-19 information on its social media sites and will focus on information about how to handle emergencies, fire prevention and wellness activities.
“The City of Olean Fire Department wants its residents and visitors to know that everything we can do is being done in regard to preparedness,” the release stated.
The department’s social media pages can be accessed through its website's main page.
