With a broad educational background, she earned her undergraduate degree from the United States Air Force Academy, her graduate degree from Colorado State University, and her medical degree from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine.
Her military career was impressive and included a stint as an orthopaedic surgeon working on some of the most difficult cases during wartime in Afghanistan, earning her the Afghanistan Campaign Medal. Dr. Swall was also Chief of Orthopedic Surgery with the 81st Surgical Operations Squadron at Keesler Air Force Base in Mississippi.
Furthering her training, she completed her residency in orthopaedic surgery at The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 2015. This was followed by a fellowship in sports medicine at Cincinnati Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center in 2020.
With an unwavering commitment to her specialty, Dr. Swall is board-certified in orthopaedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS). The ABOS is an organization with the goal of establishing educational and professional standards for orthopaedic residents and surgeons as well as evaluating the qualifications and competence of orthopaedic surgeons.
Orthopaedic surgery is the branch of surgery concerned with conditions involving the musculoskeletal system.
